[ On one hand, this just proves that the two of them being in a relationship isn't going to irrevocably change the nature of their friendship dynamic. On the other, Mion seems to be perfectly aware of that as well, and she's taking advantage of it.

He can't let her have the upper hand in this struggle. Otherwise, it'll set the tone for the entire course of their relationship... so... he'll have to resort to drastic measures. ]

If you're gonna be like that...

[ It's easy to forget that Keiichi is a bit taller and broader than her, since he doesn't really go out of his way to use his slight height and reach advantage during club activities. It hasn't really come up.

But they're in close quarters now, and there's a wall nearby, which means it takes very little effort for him to put his arms on either side of her and use that extra size to his advantage, his hands flat against the wall on either side of her.

Sonozaki Mion, you've just been kabadon'd. ]

...he stops just short and smiles widely at her, bringing up one of his hands to pat her head. It's a gentle, affectionate pat like before... but it's also a little patronizing. ]

[ Advantage: Maebara Keiichi. Turns out that all he needs to do is match her energy, and that cute, shy side of her will rear its head all over again.

It's then, of course, that he realizes he's really, really close to her, and laughing nervously, he pushes himself back, his face getting a little red as well... but not nearly as well as hers. ]

[ He holds out his hand, inviting her to sit next to him and hold it. Despite all the uncertainty and the frightening, unsettling things happening around them... this makes him genuinely happy. ]

[She reaches out for his hand, placing it in hers. Now that they're actually 'official', doing something as simple as this...? It's nice, but it also flusters her a bit.]

[ They've held hands before, but this is still an important step. His fingers lace with hers, and he leans his head on hers gently, closing his eyes. ]

[ He doesn't know if they'll remember this when they get back to Hinamizawa... if they get back to Hinamizawa. But he wants to remember it.

He nuzzles against the top of her head, trying not to let on that he's getting a little sleepy. Sleep is for the weak. ]

[There's a softness to her voice as she keeps herself close to him. It feels warm, if she's going to be honest about it. It'd be embarrassing to fall asleep in front of him, though...]

There's nothing you need to thank me for, Mion.

[ He lets go of her hand, but only so that he can put his arm behind her shoulders and pull her even closer, encouraging her to rest her head on his shoulder. So, this is what it's like to cuddle with a girl... it's very nice. ]

That's not true... there's plenty of things I should be thanking you for...

And I could probably thank you for just as many.

[ He turns to give the top of her head a gentle nuzzle, then a soft kiss. He's quickly discovering just how much he likes these soft, cute little displays of affection. ]

[The soft affection that he's giving her here is actually pretty embarrassing, but she does like it a lot, in fact.]

[ He can't help but smile at that, and he looks down at the space between them. Here he is, cuddling on a bed with Mion... which is definitely not what he thought would happen to him on this weird island, but sure enough, here they are. ]

H-Hey, Mion... do you wanna share a blanket tonight?

[ That seems like a nice, innocent way of putting it. But just asking that innocent question makes his cheeks light up a bright shade of red, and not just because it would be easy to misinterpret. ]
